Frequently asked questions about SoloAct
SoloAct is a one-time purchase, available on the App Store.
SoloAct runs on iPhone and iPad. It is designed with iPad as a primary use case — the larger screen is great for stage use in Perform Mode.
No account required. SoloAct stores everything locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No internet connection is needed to use the app.
Each venue can have a name, address, stage type, capacity, star rating, pay rating, notes, contacts, website links, setlists, and a full gig history with pay tracking.
Yes. Each gig has an expected pay and actual pay field. SoloAct totals your earnings per venue so you can see which rooms are worth your time.
Yes. Add as many contacts as you need — bookers, sound engineers, managers — right on the venue record.
Each song can have a title, artist, key, capo position, tuning, instrument, BPM, duration, energy level (1–5), and performance notes.
The Energy Arc is a bar chart that shows the energy level of each song in your setlist in sequence. It helps you see at a glance whether your set builds well, has a good arc, or is flat throughout.
When two consecutive songs in a setlist require different tunings or capo positions, SoloAct highlights the transition so you can plan what to say on stage while you adjust.
Yes. Tap "Duplicate" on any setlist to create a copy you can adjust for a different room or crowd. The copy opens immediately ready to edit.
Yes. Use the share button on any setlist to export it as plain text — useful for sending to a sound engineer or pasting into your notes app.
Perform Mode is a full-screen dark interface designed for the stage. It shows your current song title, key, capo, tuning, instrument, BPM, and performance notes large and clearly readable. Your screen stays on automatically.
Tap anywhere on the main area or swipe left/right to move to the next or previous song. There are also explicit Prev and Next buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Yes. SoloAct disables the auto-lock while Perform Mode is open and re-enables it when you exit.
Yes. If a song has a BPM set, you can tap the BPM display in Perform Mode to activate a metronome beat.
